U. Porto ENTREPRENOW was held at Hard Club in Porto and joined researchers and entrepreneurs to discuss the results of the Entrepreneurship Observatory and to listen and learn from several specialists of the area.
Among the speakers were Ken Singer (professor at the University of Berkeley- USA and CEO of Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology) that talked about the investment for start-ups especially in Sillicon Valley, and Josemaria Siota (Investigation Director in IESE Business School in Barcelona – Spain) that talked about the difficulties and opportunities in obtaining financing and partnerships for this type of companies in the European market.
The presentations were followed by a round table on the evolution of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Porto with the participation of entities such as the National Innovation Agency, Founders Founders, Porto Digital, U.Porto Inovação and UPTEC, moderated by Inês Santos Silva (activist in Portuguese Women in Tech).
Besides this the event had parallel activities like the 4th meeting of The Circle, a small group of companies that are spin-offs of the University of Porto. XpectralTEK is one of the 70 companies with that seal.
